MALS & MEWS Ceramics

The Brief

The owner of Mals & Mews Ceramics, Joanna Byng, needed a cohesive visual brand identity, brand strategy, and minimal marketing plan for her handcrafted ceramic cat figurines. The goal was to create a playful, quirky, and bold brand that reflects the personality of her work while appealing to her target audience of cat lovers, artists, and collectors. She also needed branding assets, including a logo, business cards, craft fair signage, and social media templates to establish a consistent and recognizable presence both online and at craft fairs.

The Solution

Inspired by Joanna’s ceramic designs, I created a bold, fun brand identity that connects with her audience. The logo features faces inspired by her ceramic cats, emphasizing the product-brand link. A calming black and blue color palette complements the artistic tone.

To boost growth, I developed a minimal marketing plan: a photography setup for quality product images, a content strategy with process videos and stop-motion animations, and a social media schedule of two posts weekly. I also suggested attending one craft fair monthly, with promotional posts to engage the local audience.

With this strategy, Mals & Mews Ceramics now has a clear identity that showcases its unique charm and supports future growth.
